Course details
LASALLE is well known for its fine arts education, and oil painting is one of the College's strongest fields of study. From the basics of Oil Painting I to more advanced techniques in Oil Painting III, develop a sense of light, composition and brush techniques as you find your own style.
The prerequisite for Level II and above courses is the completion of the previous level or prior experience. Applicants who wish to join Level II and above and have prior experience in oil painting are required to submit art works for trainer’s review. Applicants with no prior experience are encouraged to start from Level I.

Participants will be given a materials list and recommendations for art stores before the course starts. This allows you to purchase materials that suit your budget and preferences.

Chinese Calligraphy: History and Art
This foundational course explores the historical evolution and cultural significance of Chinese calligraphy, tracing its origins from ancient China to its modern influence on artistic expression. Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of how this revered art form developed through different dynasties, studying iconic calligraphers such as Wang Xizhi and Zhang Xu and their contributions to various script styles. Ceramics for Absolute Beginners I, II, III & IV
Use clay to form objects that are both functional and non-functional. Techniques covered in Level I include pinching, coiling and slab construction. Levels II and III focus on wheel-throwing techniques. The prerequisite for Level II and above courses is the completion of the previous level or prior experience. Applicants who wish to join Level II and above and have prior experience in ceramics are required to submit artworks for the trainer’s review. Chinese Ink Painting: Further Ink Work
Landscape painting is regarded as the highest form of Chinese ink painting. In this course, participants will work on large pieces of artwork with a focus on painting various landscapes and surrounding objects with accuracy. This course is suitable for those who have completed Chinese Ink Painting level XV and/or professional artists who are looking to deepen their techniques in landscape painting.
